Experiential Learning Workshops
The concept of energy following attention is not new or difficult to understand. Anything that draws our attention on the inside or out will also engage our energy for better or worse.
When we spend a lot of time regretting the past rather than reflecting on ‘lessons learned’ … or waste time with negative projections into the future, we are squandering valuable energy that could be put toward creative solutions to real issues.
Negative energy also breaks a connection with ourselves – whether directed inward or out – and separates us from our sources of inspiration, courage, spontaneity, vitality and certainly, our creativity. It also takes us away from the present … the only place where real problems can be addressed.
Whether the issue is a serious problem from the outside,a dilemma that comes from a polarized internal stance on something or a transition from one phase of life to another, cultivating the ability to be present is key to satisfaction and success in one’s personal or professional life.
Learning to make regular ‘deposits’ into our brain-body’s ‘account’ by eating better and getting more sleep is also what we rarely consider … at the peril of our mental and emotional fitness.
The Equus Effect Experiential Learning Program:
- We explore barriers to presence, and as we do, the truth becomes apparent.
- We help make distinctions among emotions that we tend to repress or act out.
- We uncover what stands between our true selves and the habits of mind and body that keep us stuck in patterns that don’t serve us well.
- We look at the parts that want to maintain the status quo and the ones that distract us from getting right with ourselves.

Why Horses?
Horses are the gateways and catalysts for our exploration into the space where new choices can be made through authentic engagement and connection.
Horses bring up emotions that provide us with better options in terms of how we would like to handle the ones we try to avoid.
Horses represent freedom and life force, power and unfettered energy.
Horses live in the here and now. Their reality-based, non-judgmental honesty is arresting, engaging and clear. There is no better way to support self-observation and new perspectives than to work with a horse … face to face and eye to eye.
Horses can teach us the difference between force and finesse, control and collaboration, compliance and trust … from the inside out.
Working with our horses, we can help you find good solutions to real problems. Horses’ minds are unique and they are powerful and sensitive. They are highly attuned to our emotions and can read the truths that we often hide from ourselves.
For 6,000 years, we have built our civilization on their backs. Now, we believe they are here for another part of our journey as a civilization. In our experience, horses can take us to freedom and choices through self-awareness, attunement and intuition in a completely unique way.
