Horse Care Fund
Honoring the Herd
Supporting our horses is a great way to help us serve those who serve our country and communities.
The well being of our horses is essential to what we do here. They work hard mentally, emotionally and sometimes physically, to show participants how to connect and collaborate. All they ask is that we are emotionally honest, fair, respectful — and that we take good care of them.
We do that by making sure their teeth, hooves and bodies stay fit with regular vet visits, vaccinations, supplements and whatever treatments they need to stay limber and fit for their jobs. Of course, they also need good hay, rain sheets and lots of shavings for their stalls.
We deeply appreciate any donation — large or small.
These horses help thousands of people get right with themselves and we believe they deserve the very best from us!
Thank you for your generosity!
Dutch
Dutch is a 15.2 hand (a hand is 4”) 25-year-old bright, curious and flashy Arabian Pinto cross. He won lots of blue ribbons in the Western Pleasure show ring and has been “the face of The Equus Effect” for the past 14 years.
He gets joint supplements and a special cocktail of herbs and vitamins for his coat and hooves.
Tango
Tango is a 16 hand, 20-year-old paint quarter horse who is extremely sensitive and compassionate. Until he was 10, he competed in dressage, stadium and cross country jumping.
Tango gets herbs and special supplements for healthy digestion.
Babe
Babe is a 15.3 hand, 24-year-old European Belgian who is sensitive, patient and like most mares, has strong opinions about things on occasion. Before joining us, she pulled a wagon with her partner Joe.
She gets the same supplements as Dutch, plus an extra dose of vitamins for her coat.
Lance
Lance is a 17 hand, 21 year-old bay Thoroughbred Clydesdale cross who is a big horse with a very big personality. He competed in stadium jumping and dressage until this year when he joined our herd.
Lance gets supplements for his digestion and his joints.
