Bettina Drummond – professional trainer, Olympic Coach and performer will bring her stallion Que Macho to perform some exquisite maneuvers that we call dressage, but are actually moves that were used to train horses to sustain and prevail in the chaos of combat. Dressage may look like horse dancing but in truth, it is an equestrian art that was originally used to
train horses for war.
All of the maneuvers you may have seen set to music in the Olympics, are the product of rigorous training by both horses and riders who form the kind of perfect attunement required to ensure success and survival in the chaos of combat.
Each step, burst of speed, change in elevation or direction is communicated through imperceptible signals from the human to the horse with the kind of mutual trust that one only finds among fellow warriors on the battlefield.
We are honored to have Ms. Drummond who has studied with world class masters of classical riding in France and Portugal. She has coached Olympic equestrians and trained hundreds of men and women who recognize the value of discipline, time and endless practice to perfect the art of riding in complete harmony with and respect for one’s horse.
As one of the many ingredients in our program, Bettina Drummond’s work and ethical treatment of animals has been a resonant and guiding force for all who take part in what we offer.
Experience for yourself how The Equus Effect Program engages horses with the men and women we serve to promote respect, attunement, empathy and collaboration — key ingredients for building and maintaining healthy, authentic relationships with others at home and in community.
Our military, first responders, and frontline health workers protect us — no matter what. Please help us give them all the tools they need to restore and renew their physical, emotional and mental energy.
It is only because of your belief in our mission and your generous support that we have been able to come this far.
Please help us take our work to the next level and make The Equus Effect the VA’s program of choice for veterans who sincerely want to come home. It is our great honor to serve them and we could not do so without you.
Thank you ALL for the generous sponsorships that are coming in!
Such an amazing community coming together for our mission.
AND … a very special thank you to those of you who’ve donated your services!
