The Equus Effect’s flagship Veterans program is one where we work to accelerate their journey home to family and community. We believe we owe these brave men and women the opportunity to enjoy the freedoms they were willing to give their lives to protect. And since 2019 we’ve incorporated First Responders (active and retired) and their families. We know that primary and secondary trauma can have a tremendous impact on the families of these brave, resourceful men and women. We believe that our communities will be safer and more resilient if the people who respond in times of crisis are better equipped to handle the stressors of their jobs.
To help guardian participants …
We work with guardians who want to improve their relationships. If that’s you — please contact us.
Contact Us: If you know a guardian who’s struggling with relationships, let him or her know about us.
Make a Sponsorship Donation 100% of your money goes toward tuition for guardians who really want to rebuild healthy relationships at home, work and school. We cannot help them become productive members of their communities without you.

To support our horses …
Why horses? Because of their size, history with us and non-predatory nature, horses are extremely compelling and engaging as partners in this work. They are sensitive to our intentions, and base their willingness to cooperate with us on whether or not we are fully present. And, since the work we do happens in real-time rather than an office, they accelerate clients’ capacity to resolve beliefs and behaviors that keep them stuck in stories and mindsets from the past.
These horses help a lot of people get right with themselves and we believe they deserve the very best from us!
We deeply appreciate any donation — large or small! Click here to donate to support or to sponsor a horse.
— WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR ANY AND ALL CONTRIBUTIONS THAT HELP US GIVE GUARDIANS A ‘LEG UP’ —
